A unique and timeless collaboration inspired by influential figures and historical landmarks of England.
The opportunity
As a nationally recognised charity that cares for more than 400 historic sites in every corner of England, English Heritage presented a fantastic opportunity for a branded furniture collection. We immediately saw a place in the market for a furniture range that would feel timeless yet accessible, while generating meaningful support for a national charity.
The audience
By partnering with English Heritage, we aimed to bring history into modern homes in a way that felt authentic, considered and thoughtfully design-led. We set out with a vision to translate England’s rich heritage into a commercially relevant furniture collection for an audience who values craftsmanship and heritage.
The potential
English Heritage have over one million members, making it one of the country’s largest membership organisations with an incredible reach. We knew there was a great opportunity here to hone in on the brand’s strong national recognition and cultural relevance.

How we made an idea reality
Both champions of quality, English Heritage and Barker & Stonehouse were an ideal match for a collection with finesse and a story to tell. With a deep understanding of both the retailer and the brands’ consumer profiles, we got to work developing an exclusive collection of three sofa ranges, each inspired by iconic English Heritage locations.
Delivered in partnership with licensing agency Golden Goose, the collection brings heritage to life through thoughtfully designed fabrics and forms, while generating royalties that directly support English Heritage’s preservation and storytelling work.
Project Highlights
The result is a collection that feels classic and traditional, reimagined with a commercial edge for today’s customer. Delivering exceptional results for both the retailer and brand alike, the English Heritage collection holds its weight in-store by continuing to drive sales.
